I still have that elongated conversation in my head from last night's meet at Fuzz's, that the Internet is a computer orgy...My mind has been broken. o.O

1. Who are you?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Do you have a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss me?
6. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
7. Describe me in one word.
8. What was your first impression?
9. Do you still think that way about me now?
10. What reminds you of me?
11. If you could give me anything what would it be?
12. How well do you know me?
13. When's the last time you saw me?
14. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
15. Are you going to put this on your blog and see what I say about you?

Jul. 5th, 2006 @ 11:58 am My family is falling apart...a little at a time
Current Location: Home
Current Mood: distressed
My little brother just moved out today.

Just like that.

He told my parents he wasn't going to move out as of yesterday. However, this morning he invited a friend over, and told Mom his friend was here to play XBox and hang out. We got home from Sam's Club, and his stuff was all gone and his car is gone. He apparently told my other younger brothers that he was sick and tired of us and was moving out this morning. Mom is so furious and upset with Nick lying to her--she's crying--that she said that as far as she's concerned, Nick is no longer part of our family and doesn't exist. She's calling a locksmith to have all the locks in our house and our garage rekeyed. When Dad gets home, this is going to hit the roof. My parents think he is moving out so that he doesn't have to repay the debt that he owes my parents, which is in the thousands of dollars.

I need to get out of the house.

Can't I just have a life free of family issues...for just a little while? I just want to escape all this for a little while. A reprieve from the stresses of life. I am normally happy-go-lucky, but I need to free myself from these bonds tying me down before I can go back to being that way. I don't want to come across to people as constantly stressed-out or discontent. I want to be happy and I'm willing to work for it.

My dad used to work for IBM. So I already knew that the slogan for IBM employees was "Think."

I just saw someone comment in Kaysho's most recent post that the slogan for IBM retirees was "Thought."

I'm amused. :)

I was curious to see who all would be interested in heading out to TRF this year. I am 'not' asking anyone to commit right now, just seeing who would be interested. The possible dates for me are either the first weekend (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) or the second weekend (Oct. 7-8). That may change if I get a symphony gig offer for Oct. 7 (I need the money). But for now, I will give those dates and see what people think. We'd leave on a Friday, return on a Sunday or possibly even Monday. Road trip, of course. :>

I escaped from the Dungeon of Celyddon!

I killed Teirandragon the leprechaun, Kaysho the goblin, Mossberg the cockatrice, Shadowtxhorse the leprechaun, Guardlion the dragon and Stu Ath the leprechaun.

I looted the Dagger of Dook, a Figurine of Spectrewolf, the Wand of Regek, the Shield of Arakinuk, a Figurine of C 6, the Sceptre of Violin, the Dagger of Darkblood777, the Armour of Violin, a Figurine of Fuzzwolf and 157 gold pieces.

Score: 332

*laughs* My entire dungeon was littered with references to music and composing. How appropriate. That is the most addictive little meme I've had in a long time. Yeah, I edited this and redid the dungeon--I wanted a better score. :> I also attempted a second dungeon, which was far kinder to me than my own dungeon *glare* so here's how I did.

HIGH SCORE!!!!!

On a slightly happier note--thank you to those who already responded to my entry earlier today, I feel better that I'm not the one overreacting (here's my journal entry)--I have finalized "Wistful." Finished up what little I had left to write, and so I give you the final version. At least, the computer-performed final version.

For Friday's meet, what kind of dessert would people suggest I make? Savrin will have the biggest say, since it's for his birthday this past weekend (happy whelp day!). The choices are: brownies, regular cake, or cookies of your choice. I can make them sugar free or egg-free as needed.

Note: tiramisu is out this time unless people are willing to chip in for the cost. It is not cheap to make enough for 12-14 people. It costs around $15-20 for two small loaves. I'm running a little short on money this paycheck.

Happy Summer Solstice, to those who celebrate it. Unfortunately, as I have to work this evening, I won't be able to celebrate the High Holiday tonight, but such is life. ^_^ Hope everyone's Midsummer is a good one!

Though...what better way to celebrate the (fire) High Holiday than to spin fire poi...or its equivalent? *grins* I think I shall do that tonight at lunch.

Best wishes to everyone heading out to AC. Have a great time and come back in one piece. Kindly do not bring Con Crud back here. ^_^

Unfortunately, as WalMart denied my vacation time to London and my family vacation to New Braunfels, I won't really get a vacation at all this year. I'm putting all my eggs into the basket that is Texas Renaissance Festival, and that will be Oct. 5-7 for me. Until then, I'm doing my best to just blow random vacation days at WalMart when I can. I might take a weekend or two off just because, and maybe a couple of Tuesdays so I can hang with Fuzz and crew.

Otherwise...I guess I'll spend my summer composing (working on a new piece right now) and mastering poi and firestaff for TRF. I hope to be able to spin fire by that point. ;)

**edit** I am liking the results of my working out. My abs are nice and firm now and I'm redefining the two trouble spots I have. Woot!

Jun. 11th, 2006 @ 11:43 pm My grandmother has passed away
Current Mood: sad
I apologize, as I don't have much time to post. I was just given the news tonight that my grandma isn't going to make it after having major heart surgery. She is having multiple organ failure, and they are taking her off life support tonight. Mom is flying to CA tomorrow for two weeks for the funeral and family stuff. Dad will join her later. I will miss you, Grandma, and I love you dearly. I hope that God treats you well in Heaven. You were always good to me, and I hope Grandpa can get comfort from the rest of the family as I know he misses you too.

If anyone has a spare moment to offer prayers and or support for our family, it would be much appreciated. This has really hit my family hard when we are already down and hurting. I know I myself have been under a bit of emotional stress lately and this is just another thing to handle.

Because of this, and having my parents fly out again, I might be offline for awhile. I might post about A-Kon later, though not much to say there. My picture will be in Cosplay Magazine and on Cosplay.com. I hope everyone going to AC has fun, I'll be thinking of you all. *shrug* Sorry guys, just kinda feeling sad and a bit lonely right now and with that I will sign off.

A-Kon is coming in three days! WOOHOO!!!

I need a serious vacation. This will be so much fun! I love getting up in costume and cosplaying.

I myself will be going as Lina Inverse on Friday *is working furiously on the cloak at the moment* and Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War on Saturday. Dunno if I'll do the Hall Cosplay. I am seriously considering it. Next year, when I get my Lina costume properly finished, I will likely take it to the cosplay contest as well.

At some point during A-Kon, I will likely be seen with a Citan Uzuki and either Yakushi Kabuto or Alphonse Elric. I've also been told to watch out for a pair of Akatsuki members. ^_^ Still have to figure out how to get my hair hidden under a wig...I have very long, thick hair. >.<

And because it's hell day, and mass chaos reigns...

Darkness blacker than pitch,
Deeper than the deepest night,
King of the darkness who shines like gold upon the sea of Chaos,
I call upon thee, swear myself to thee,
Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I possess!

Giga Slave! *gets taken over by the Lord of Nightmares*

There will be a movie meet for June at Nexxus' place. The date and time and movie have all been set, but I will let Fuzz announce that stuff.

My question is...what would you all like for me to make? Or better still...

1.) What kind of food do you prefer...American, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, etc.?
2.) Would you rather I make dinner or dessert?
3.) Do you have any specific suggestions in mind regarding what you'd like to eat?

Hooray! I am 95% done with the Citan tunic. I'm working on the last of the sleeve ornamentation right now, and I just need to get a set of gold buttons for the bottom part of the tunic. I also have to make a quick JoAnn's run tomorrow morning to get the fabric for the two sashes, which shouldn't be difficult at all. I will need to take them to Dook on Monday to have them fitted to him. Then I'm completely done. Edit to myself: unfortunately, 3 yards of white cording was not enough. I will need another yard.

I took the nearly-finished product to Dook yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it fit him perfectly. (Of course, it looked wrong on me--I had to try it on periodically to make sure stuff was secure and facing the right way, and he and I are of similar size. But we are of very different proportions.) I have to say--I am VERY proud of how this turned out, after the dozens of hours of work I've put into it. It beats all the other Citan costumes I have seen hands down. He seemed rather pleased and impressed as well.

Hopefully, since I finished this faster than I'd planned, I will work Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on my own Lina Inverse costume, and hopefully I will be able to get enough done on that so that I can wear it to the Kon. I can't wait for A-Kon. I have one friend going as Citan, one going as Kabuto/Alphonse Elric, and another of my friends is the head moderator of all the panels.

I'm gonna sign off for the weekend. This afternoon, I'm heading over to Nexxus' place to help them move stuff, then going to work later on this evening. Tomorrow is finishing any last bits of the Citan costume, then work in the evening. I have to go Monday to UNT to get my background papers for PISD.

Bush is calling our society...transparent.

"In a transparent society like ours...there will be a full investigation..." [regarding the alleged coverup of the Marines in Haditha last November]

Transparent. Riiiiiiight.

**edit** Costume update. I already finished the Kabuto gloves last week and gave those to Zack. That seemed to have gone over well with him. I am in the process of finally assembling the Citan tunic I'm working on. All the pieces are now done, including the collar and sleeve detailing. (I'm proud of myself for that one. It turned out well.) Now just to put stuff together, attach the ornaments, and it will be complete. I hope he likes what I have pulled together.

I might have a bit of time next week to attempt finishing my own costume stuffs...yay!

I was spinning my glowsticks outside of WM, de-stressing on my lunch, and I usually get an audience when I do that. I also get assorted honks, stares, and yells, normally all good things. Curious parents come ask me what those glowing things are, and awed children get a kick out of the pretty spinning lights.

I figured I was the only person I knew in my area who could do that. But a nice guy came up to me--he was probably only a couple years older than me--greeted me, smiling, and held out his hands. I gave him the glowsticks, expecting the wild, chaotic spinning that most people do when first using them. He surprised me--his spinning was nearly as good as mine. He only did it for a moment, asking me if I'd gone to the clubs a lot, and I said no, I work here at night. He handed my 'sticks back with a smile and told me to take care.

So...there are two spinners in my area. But seeing him spin only gives me motivation to get better myself. :) He had a good teacher...I hope to be a good glowstick teacher as well.
